that's how they screw you to make money off you. is there anything else I should know or do? Ps not to mention the note the sales manager left in my truck saying they can easily get me a brand new Toyota if I sell mine for the aggressive offer they're willing to give me. I still want it fixed and stop leaking but I think my next step is to pull the cover off and make a gasket. After waiting to get the right key for my truck since they gave me someone elses I took my truck and left and started looking things up about this but then I realized I could've been driving with this issue for 4 years already and my trucks still fine. I was mind blown, stressed out, and freaking out. Was covered under warranty and is a straight-forward flange seal job that is common in many automotive cases. My 2015 had the timing cover leak at 58K miles. They said for them to do the fix on their behalf at the dealership it would cost 5100$ total and my truck will be worked on for quite a while and they would have to pull the motor. Make sure they keep looking around, the head gasket was leaking by the oil drain drain back passage as well. Ive never heard of gaskets or O rings costing that much. Unfortunately, on the RX, the repair job requires removing the engine and transmission because there’s no room in the engine bay to pull the timing cover. They told me for parts itself it will cost me around 1000$? "For what to put a new gasket in" I said. Along the way, the video’s main focus concerns the massive amount of labor involved in repairing the front timing cover oil leak on a 2015 Lexus with the 2GR-FE 3.5L V6. ![]() I took my truck in to the new dealership for the 150$ diagnosis, and they told me that's exactly what it was. I figure out that it's an oil leak and its coming from or near the timing chain cover. I thought Me or the previous owner spilled something while refilling the fluids but just now at 70k miles. ![]() I just recently took my 2017 in and I noticed this leak 2 years ago at around 33k miles and didn't know if It was a leak.
